I am a beginner who got into photography when my wife suggested I try it. I have been on disability for some time now and have been really bored so I tried it and I have fallen in love. Everything I see now I think to myself how to compose the shot. Its like an addiction.
I have been trying different things but seem to be enjoying landscape/skyscape, HDR and macro photography the most. I really love photos with water motion blur in them but have not captured one myself that I am pleased with, yet.
I started with my wife's old Pentax MX SLR but have moved to digital with a Kodak z990 and Olympus e-500 and have been having much more fun. Oh, that and the fact I don't have to pay for film was a big plus! :-)
I am still learning all about how to use my cameras and what everything means. I get a lot of ideas and info from photos on here and other sites by looking at the photos and the things like what aperture, shutter speed and whatnot that were used to achieve them really helps!
I have 2 boys, 5 and 8. My youngest and I enjoy going on walks through parks and around the local lake taking photos together. All of us but my wife enjoy fishing and when the weather gets a bit nicer I hope to combine photography and fishing for more fun with both.
